Pit Bull Terrier •
Hi! My name is Flutter! I was given this name because when the shelter workers looked into my eyes, it made their hearts flutter! While my rescuers don't know much about my life before rescue, they do know that I came into the shelter in pretty bad shape. I was severely emaciated and had a pretty serious injury to my tail. Unfortunately, my tail was unable to heal properly, so it had to be amputated, but don't worry, I am still as wiggly as ever! I am extremely friendly, but unfortunately have not been taught many manners, so I am still learning how to be a good girl! At a year old, I still have quite a bit of energy, so I will need a family that will allow me to get the correct amount of exercise I need to be a good girl! I am currently fostered with dogs of all sizes, but have learned that I tend to get along better with a dog that weighs at least as much as I do (around 50 pounds) or bigger. I love to play with my doggy friends, but sometimes my energy can annoy them, so I will need playmates that love to run around and wrestle with me! I am not a huge fan of cats. I am fostered with a toddler that I absolutely love! I would love to go into a new home with kids, but will need kids that are sturdy on their feet as I tend to get excited and forget that I am not supposed to jump on people! Despite my tough past, I am such a total sweetheart that has the potential to become an amazing pet with the correct family and proper training. Do I sound like someone that could fit into your family? Let's find out! Apply today! My adoption fee is $250.
If you've already applied and would like to transfer your application to Flutter, please submit an Adoption Application Transfer Request.
Not quite ready to adopt? Help Flutter find her forever home by sharing her story!
All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. Please note that our pets come from shelters, so we CANNOT guarantee age, breed, mix of breeds, or adult size.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home.
An application does not obligate you to adopt, and can be transferred to any pet. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the pet you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call within 7-10 days. If you would like to transfer your application to a different pet, please submit an adoption application transfer request. You will need the application number and email address from your original application.
We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a shelter location where pets can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a pet in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal. Please note that we do not perform same-day adoptions.
Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
