Australian Shepherd •
Meet Cobe, a 1 year old Australian Shepherd mix. This handsome boy weighs in around 45 pounds, and is on the search for his perfect forever home! He found himself at the shelter as a young pup, and has been shuffled around to several homes already in his short life. He is looking for some stability in a home where he will be put to work. The Aussie in him needs job, with daily physical and mental exercise to keep him happy and well rounded. Cobe has the tendency to herd when bored, so he will not be placed in a home with young children- 15+ please! He does fantastic with other dogs, and would enjoy having another four legged playmate, but his prey drive is too high for small animals, such as cats. Cobe needs an active household that should expect to continue his training- without it, he will get bored and will find his own way to entertain that isn't the best outlet for his energy. He knows several commands, such as sit, stay, come, drop it, leave it, heel, and plays a killer game of fetch. Cobe's new family needs to have previous dog experience and is required to be experienced with herding breeds, such as Aussies, Cattle Dogs, Border Collies, etc. He will not be placed with a first time dog owner. Cobe's future family should be familiar or experienced with behavioral issues. His ideal home would have a fenced in yard to play in, but also a family who will plan to walk him frequently. If you think your household will be the right fit for Cobe, apply online today!
My adoption fee is $150.
If you've already applied and would like to transfer your application to Cobe, please submit an Adoption Application Transfer Request.
Not quite ready to adopt? Help Cobe find his forever home by sharing his story!
All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. Please note that our pets come from shelters, so we CANNOT guarantee age, breed, mix of breeds, or adult size.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home.
An application does not obligate you to adopt, and can be transferred to any pet. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the pet you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call within 7-10 days. If you would like to transfer your application to a different pet, please submit an adoption application transfer request. You will need the application number and email address from your original application.
We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a shelter location where pets can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a pet in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal. Please note that we do not perform same-day adoptions.
Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
