MaleYoungHusky / Border CollieLarge

Koda's Story

Hi, I am Koda! I am a handsome and obedient male Husky/Border Collie mix from Tennessee. I am a year old and currently weigh 61lbs. I love going out on long walks and am curious about anything and everything around. Just like my name, I am a happy little (not quite!) bear who loves people, food, and lots of belly rubs! I am not a huge fan of those crates but I can stay in there for a while over the day! Also I am potty trained, so don't worry, I do my business outside. I prefer to be with an active experienced owner who would not mind my long walks and short runs. Also, I would like to be his/her only boy! I can get a little anxious at night and would want the owner to know how to comfort me. Sorry, I think I prefer grown ups over small kids even though they are so cute. Make sure you have a tall fence and I am not left unsupervised if you are letting me out. I kind of lose it when I see other animals. But don't worry I can do very well in an apartment as well. Space doesn't matter to me, your love and affection does! These loud city noises don't scare me but I am still getting used to them. I am still working on my mannerism towards dogs but may need some professional help. I am still learning some basic commands. All my potential adopters remember these golden words - KODA! NEEDS! WALKS!

So you think your lifestyle matches my needs and we could work something out?! Then go ahead apply for adopting me and let the wonderful people at Louie's Legacy (can't thank them enough) do the rest. This pet's adoption fee is $500 This animal is currently being fostered in Manhattan and may require potential adopters to go there to do a meet and greet or an adoption.

If you've already applied and would like to transfer your application to Koda, please submit an Adoption Application Transfer Request.

Adoption Process

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. Please note that our pets come from shelters, so we CANNOT guarantee age, breed, mix of breeds, or adult size.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home.

An application does not obligate you to adopt, and can be transferred to any pet. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the pet you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call within 7-10 days. If you would like to transfer your application to a different pet, please submit an adoption application transfer request. You will need the application number and email address from your original application.

We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a shelter location where pets can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a pet in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
