Great Pyrenees • Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Hi everybody! My name is Amaretto, and I am a 4 month, ~40 lbs, male, Great Pyrenees mix. I am basically a big, fuzzy baby, who is expected to grow to be around 120 lbs. My foster parents like to nickname me "Mr. Fuzzy" because whenever people meet me for the first time, they always comment on how cute and fuzzy I am! Aside from being fuzzy, I also melt the hearts of those I meet within seconds because I am so sweet, friendly, and well-behaved. I have a good energy and pep to me without being too overly energetic. I am calm and will only bark if I feel like someone is coming towards my foster parents that I haven't met before. I like to spend a good chunk of my day just sleeping and cuddling with you, but I'm also always ready to go on an adventure with you. Even if I'm taken off the leash, I will stay right by your side because I never want to part ways with you. My foster parents have me almost entirely potty-trained, and I even know how to swim!! They also say I do very well with road trips since I'll just lay down in the back seat and since I know how to jump into and out of the car on my own already. I do extremely well with all people and creatures, including children and other dogs. I have yet to meet someone/something that I don't like. My perfect day consists of laying next to you outside and having you brush my hair, going for a long walk, and snuggling on the couch into the evening while watching a good show on TV. Please take me home with you so that I can be your fur-ever best friend and snuggle buddy :)!! The adoption fee for this pet is $500 and is currently being fostered in Manhattan and may require that potential adopters go there in order to do a meet and greet or adopt.
If you've already applied and would like to transfer your application to Amaretto, please submit an Adoption Application Transfer Request.

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. Please note that our pets come from shelters, so we CANNOT guarantee age, breed, mix of breeds, or adult size.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home.
An application does not obligate you to adopt, and can be transferred to any pet. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the pet you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call within 7-10 days. If you would like to transfer your application to a different pet, please submit an adoption application transfer request. You will need the application number and email address from your original application.
We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a shelter location where pets can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a pet in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
